DLM 20W50

I emailed Dave Ward to request an HPL recommendation for an 8.1L engine in a 2009 Mastercraft boat. He suggested DLM 20W50, but I can't find it on their website. Does anyone know what DLM is?

That’s a question for Dave, I would think. DLM may be a typo from a very busy guy, or, it may be a product short hand.

Have you called HPL?

We used Mobil 1 15W50 (around year 2000 version) in our GM 8.1 gassers for transmission dyno testing.
Didn't have oil related issues, all the failures were valvetrain (broken valve springs leading to dropped valves) or broken pistons. Our duty cycle was getting the equivalent of 3.5 mpg.
I believe the 8.1 has been pretty successful in consumer use.
