So I've been using ONR and P&S Absolute for the longest time. Polymer based seems ok. I was thinking of trying surfactant & polymer as it cleans better. So I bit the bullet and tried DIYDetail's rinseless wash and I must say, I am very impressed!

Few things I have noticed compared to P&S Absolute:
1) It's slicker (during washing, drying and afterwards)
2) Cleaning ability is a tad better
3) It keeps the wash mitt cleaner (P&S Absolute can't do this)
3) It does dries off quicker (cuts down working time)
4) The polymers that it leaves behind wipes off effortlessly (I don't need to press hard against the towel to remove the spots)
5) It does not smears like P&S Absolute when you don't wipe it off firmly with a towel. Especially on glass. This wipes off with ease without force.

In conclusion - I say it is worth a try, despite the bad reviews on Youtube. The cost of a gallon is $49 it is not that much more money compared to P&S Absolute for $46.

How did you determine it's cleaning ability is better or worse than another product? Also how would it keep the mitt cleaner? If the dirt is on the surface it ends up in the mitt either way, no?

This is what I have experienced and perceived. This is not from a science lab. I am only here to share my experience not to defend the product.

P&S Absolute is my go to. I’ve tried DIY V1 and V2 and while it works good, I’m biased towards Polymer rinse-less washes. My favorites besides Absolute are Koch RRW and Wolfgang Uber. With surfactant rinse-less washes I find them sticky when drying.

Yes, you are right, it keeps the wash media cleaner because it holds the dirt in suspension / emulsion like a motor oil actually. For me, I will only use a surfactant rinseless like DIY or N914 if doing a one bucket and one sponge method. Absolute and ONR leave too much dirt on the wash media.

I'm a fan of DIY Rinseless, too. I've used a bottle of their V1, their V2, and am now working on a gallon of their V2. I've also used ADS Hero, N914, and Ethos Hybrid.

99% of the time I use rinseless for cleaning my wheels outside of my normal wash routine (heavy brake dust vehicle here), and DIY and Ethos are my favorites - superior in keeping my mf towel cleaner than the others, and (less importantly) I like their odors better, too. Wins either way...hence a gallon of each on my garage shelf.

YMMV, but rinseless has its place.

Not only that but it does take more passes to clean the panel. The Version 2 of the DIY - seems like they added more polymers to the rinseless.

Try the new ONR v6. It is significantly more slick than most products out there, but I have not personally tried the DIYDetail.

Cleaning power still goes to Feynlab though.

I haven't tried ONRV6. Last RW I tried was DIY. I liked it but that Detail Projects guy said there is a pretty harsh chemical in it so I stopped using it.

If you haven't tried Armor Detail Supply "Hero Rinseless Wash" yet.....really worth it. I've used a bunch over the years - ONR, CarPro Ech2o, McKees, etc - and Hero is the new standard.

That guy is full of it I think. He has some good tests and is right to examine things critically, but he is also not a toxicologist or a chemist that I know of. The harsh chemical he complains about is SL(E)S which is in your hair shampoo and toothpaste. It's just a surfactant. He's fearmongering over nothing. You can literally put a higher concentration of it in your mouth via toothpaste than is in the DIY rinseless wash. It foams, so if there was a lot of it, you would have a foamy wash all the time like your shampoo or toothpaste. He also made up some stuff about EU limits and then when I called him out he deleted some of my posts and banned me from commenting on the channel. He had similar comments on the Gyeon rinseless that were also off-base. He claims RWs are a "scam" because they are mostly water, but then we have "dangerous" chemicals at tiny effective dilution ratios? Which is it, can't be both, lol.

Now, I don't think DIY has high quality on some of their products. I'm skeptical on their coatings and their Quick Beads kind of sucks compared to Gyeon WetCoat.

I did watch about the ADS HERO rinseless wash. I heard a lot of mixed reviews about it so I ended up with DIY V2.

I think you're right. He makes a huge leap by looking a small %'s of chemicals that are diluted per SDS and claiming they're harmful. He also won't disclose what he does that makes him an authority on that topic. Is he a chemist? I've also gotten better results from WC than I did with Quick Beads. DIY is just average to me. 🤷‍♂️
