Would someone please post a link to a video or the like demonstrating an ATF change on a 2001 CIVIC and/or a 2007 TUNDRA? I tried a search and didn’t turn up anything. I have found ONE You Tube video of a guy demonstrating a DIY ATF change on a Civic, but the video seemed to omit some very critical steps.

2001 Civic should be finding the drain plug, inserting a 3/8" ratchet into plug, drain out 3 quarts, replace drain plug, remove dipstick, find a long-enough funnel, add in 3 quarts, done. ATF changes on Honda's smaller cars are simple.

If you know some very critical steps are omitted, that presumes you know the procedure. Right?

Don't overthink this. It is very simple as the previous post indicates.

The youtube that seems to show all the critical steps for doing a complete fluid exchange on a Honda is posted below. IMO, it's fairly comprehesive. The one possible knock I've seen commented on here before is the use of generic DexIII, Dex/Merc as a flush fluid. Honestly don't think that would be a big deal though.

All that said, I have the same year Civic as you and all I've ever done is a single trans drain and fill every 25-30k after an initial 60k interval. With Z-1 discontinued, I recently switched to Maxlife Dex/Merc ATF for the last d&f and the Civic is shifting normally at ~185k miles. But, it's your call.

One other comment I had forgotten about that youtube is that in it the demonstrator uses the supply line as the drain/flush line, and blows compressed air through the rad/cooler. Some/many prefer to just disconnect and use the return line to flush the clean fluid through the rad/cooler.

I did my 2005 Civic today. It is as simple as they say. Allowing it to drain out took the longest. Use 3/8 ratcket to loosen it off, let it drain, put on new crush washer, screw it back in and fill with 2.2 litres of honda transmission fluid.
