I recently bought some Michelin Tires at Discount that came with a $70 rebate. I did the rebate online, and somehow, either the computer system screwed it up or someone entered it twice! Both times it was rejected as the invoice wasn't matched with the rebate code, or something like that. So I called them recently and the customer service person saw where it was screwed up, matched the invoice, and said a check would be in the mail. Well, I received a check last week. Great customer service.

I check my mail today, and what do I find, ANOTHER rebate check!

I called them back, and the customer service person said they are having problems with duplications of the rebates and to just keep the 2nd check.

FINALLY, the incompetence of a big corporation favored me.

Wow, even better luck than I had with them.

I got tires for the Dakota back in October, used the online system and everything went extremely smoothly.

DiscountTireDirect are awesome. I recently bought Michelin's from them and they took care of me and a few problems I had with the product without a hitch!

I hope you got the name of the person who told you to keep the second check and have the conversation recorded.
Because when you need bail money, that person will have quit their job and you won't have too many friends here on BITOG.....

Is their rebate processor a company in Mesa Arizona? That's who does Discount Tire rebates.

Drew, You got MY rebate!
I'm a Canadian that bought 4 tires from Discount Tire in November, there was a $40 rebate due, But ONLY to U.S. residents! What the heck!
In all fairness, I think you should pass that check on to me ;-)

Apparently they just set up an expense account for "incompetent multiple transactions".
