Aeroforce makes a OBDII gauge microprocessor that reports more data but does not include a trip computer. It comes as a 52mm gauge. It also has the ability to connect two analog sensor signals of your choice. I just purchased one but have not yet installed it. I added an oil pressure sensor and oil temperature sensor. Kind of a spendy toy.
I believe all electronic automatic transmissions have a temperature sensor reporting to the ECM to help determine shift parameters. It just depends on if the signal is readable by the ScanguageII.
If the ECM is providing the signal for the temperature gauge, a lot of times they are set to remain in one spot from around 170 to 220. Otherwise, a lot of the less in the know folks would think there is something wrong with the car/gauge.
I think a lot of the oil pressure gauges are basically a switch. As long as there is enough pressure to close the switch, the ECM does not care. I have seen some where the switch is wired directly to the dash and the ECM doesn't even read the pressure.
