Dirt Cheap Charging at a local Community College

I spend far less time charging my EV than I spend filling the tanks of my F-150, lawnmower, and SxS.

The EV charges itself while I sleep. Tanks 15 seconds to connect, 15 seconds to disconnect.

It's incredible how much time one spends fueling when you actually add it all up, especially in a gasoline powered house with multiple cars. (trimmers, mowers)

You basically go from having to go to, stop at. or be somewhere 52 times a year per vehicle to almost 0.

Every time I see somebody say " it only takes me 5 minutes to fill up" the discussion simply isnt serious or remotely accurate.

It almost like people all of the sudden arent aware that we've all been doing just that for 50 or more years and know full well that at best thats just pump time, you have to GO there to begin to start filling.

Talks of road trips times that somehow ignore how a tank gets full before leaving, and gets filled back in preparation for the next week use arent worthy of consideration when comparing travel time.

Not claiming EV will be quicker on a long trip, jut that it's way more competitive than most people think when you add it all in.

EV charging? It's probably not what you think. You learn. I did. Is an EV right for you? Depends. I am not buying any more ICE vehicles outside of a pickup.

I am convinced few have ever seriously timed how long of a diversion stopping got gasoline takes. Just try stopping for gas when one is a few minutes early for work. You will be much later than you think.

Also convinced few know how to calculate MPG. Don’t know the math. Don’t know how to collect the data. Will not believe the gauge on dashboard could possibly be incorrect.

When my 2007 Prius was only a couple months old I was approached at a gas station by a Know It All. He informed me, “They lied to you! That thing doesn’t get any better MPG than my car. (A Malibu.)” I satirically replied, “Wish you had told me before I bought! They promised 60 MPG and I’m only getting 50 miles divided by gallons, trip odometer divided by pump gallons.” Was filling out my logbook at the time, held it out to him. Glanced at it and stormed off.

They have all sorts of benefits for the public for cheap or free. Pool/ gym use. You can even get an all you can eat meal at the dining commons for like twelve bucks!
An adult meal at my child's elementary school is only $4.15 including bottled water, and they will let you eat all you want, so long as you finish by the time your child's grade level is done with lunch. It's the best deal in town!

well ok, maybe Costco's $1.50 hot dog and Pepsi is cheaper, but the elementary school has lots of vegetables!
