Speaking of dipsticks- I noticed my 2011 FJ Cruiser dipstick is actually a little sharp on the end...I could feel what seemed like the inside of the dipstick tube being scraped as I inserted it. Great- shave metal off to get into the oil.
A few minutes with some emery cloth and the edges of the end are now nice and rounded.
I also had trouble reading the oil level as there are just two little depressions in the stick. They are now holes, makes it a lot easier to see.
