Dino oil time interval vehicle not driven much?

Let's say you have a vehicle that is driven infrequently. Let's say you use a quality conventional oil, something like Castrol. And, you use a quality filter (Mobil 1).

If in 6 months the vehicle was driven far less than 3,000 miles, would you change the oil?

How long could you leave it in and feel confident it's doing it's job?

i have a bucket of bolts dodge ram that sees 1000-2000 miles per year. i change the oil every 12-18 months at most.

If when you drive it you get it up to temp then 12-18 months.

My 1999 F-150 sees maybe 3,000 miles, and that would be a very busy year.

I went around 18 months the last OCI, however I used a Motorcraft filter instead of your Mobil 1.
I don't see a reason to use a premium filter on a relatively short OCI. Just use a decent something with decent dino, and you should be good till for just about forever.

The best advice I can give is once every 4-6 weeks drive the vehicle at least 30 minutes on the highway to burn off some of the crud(fuel, water, ect) that will accumulate in your sump.

2 years is fine dependent on the mileage relative to the mpg and sump size. Like 3,000 miles for a V8 Truck (12 mpg) with a 5 Qt Sump or 6,000 miles on an I4 Compact (30 mpg) with a 4 qt sump.

If it exceeds oil capacity x average mpg x 50 I would change it.

PS Filter is overkill.
