Whats the difference between the Trico Ultra and Force wiper blades? They look identical to me...

How thick is the mounting part if anyone is running them? They look very wide, do they look odd on a vehicle?!

Thanks :)

I just took some Trico Forces off my truck (they were chattering). They don’t look anymore big and bulky than any other beam style blade. According to Trico, the Force is designed to withstand “excess of 135 mph (220 kph) caused by cross winds, buffeting truck winds and general traffic turbulence” while the Ultra’s are made in the USA and have almost but not exactly the same aerofoil design.

I researched them when I was looking at rock auto.
There was a comparison chart that I found.

Edit: found a similar chart but not exact one.. somewhat marketing material.

I wonder if it is where they are sold? I have only seen the Flex in part stores and I think I have seen the Ultras at places like Mills Fleet Farm and Bomgaars (local farm store chain).

On my current car (which happens to be a kia soul) I go to the dealer - price wise not much difference. The ‘96 chevy PU bomber just got what ever advance auto had in stock that fit. What’s surprising is the wipers from advance were actually cheaper than what Walmart wanted.
Go figure….

Very recently, I bought a box full of Trico Ultras for various cars. All of them worked as well as Denso/NWB wipers that were already 12 months old.

The Ultras and Force are their top of the line ones supposedly. I surprisingly got a very fast reply from them via email:
Hello the Ultra has exclusive twin-coupler technology provides more consistent pressure over life of the wiper system,
Chamfer-edge end cap design helps protect against ice scraper damage, and improved reversibility and less chatter on the rubber over the Trico Force. Is there anything else I can help you with today

It didn't explain much other then marketing and the clip.

I've got a couple cars here that need wipers asap, so really need to order something soon as well a few filters etc I need. I was thinking one of these Tricos or Anco Contours or Valeo Titaniums...

FWIW I have had good luck with the Trico Force blades.

I've always been the type to use blades until they start to peel or get noisy/chatter (which these are peeling on the ends now.) I do check them every couple months though. I can get 3yrs+ on a set doing this. We also don't have $6-7 blades up here though :( The Mopar ones on my Jeep TJ I had for 5yrs+ and worked fine till it was written off and had many others last just as long on other vehicles (paid $26 CDN for both). Only once I had short lived ones on my old Merc when I bought cheapy blades from CT and they lasted about 5-6 months before making a racket I couldn't get rid of...

I'm tired of trying to sort out whats best from reviews etc so I just ordered the Trico Forces...
I'm glad some suggested they worked good, thank you :)
