I don't know why manufacturers insist on powder coating certain parts. Well I do know, but it can be frustrating.
2019 boat and the black powder coating on the wiper arms started coming off in spots in ~2023, then sheets last year. After some touch ups, things like this drive me crazy, I finally stripped as much of the existing coat as I could, scuffed up the stainless than used etching primer followed by RustOleum black textured paint, which gives a perfect matt finish for these. I am very satisfied with the results. We'll see how this holds up....
