I know 99% of those here know this, but for those unaware (me not so long ago) I thought this could be helpful. I had a bit of a snafu installing a new drain system, ended up with a leak, and had to redrain, refill and reinstall. This is about 10 miles on M1 esp 0w20 on my ‘21 Sierra 3.0

It doesn't take much to look really dark in a milk jug that is 9" thick.
ok. that doesn’t make sense to me. Here’s a top down view into same jug and view of dipstick with fresh oil (kinda hard to tell due to color of dipstick, but it’s almost clear with the green tint esp has).

wouldn’t be concerned at all. Diesel engines turn oil black real fast. I never noted ESP had a green tint either

I don’t believe you for a second. Done many diesel oil changes. Hang around and work on some older diesels. Oil is black quick.
You can believe whatever you want to believe. Why would I lie? I’m just trying to post something helpful

This is not correct. Bought this truck new and last 60k miles have been changed every 5k miles
Well, 10 miles and black oil is not my experience with diesel engines. Maybe these new things are different. Understand, I dont mean that YOU have neglected the thing meaningfully, but maybe the oil you are using is not doing a good job, or something along those lines.

My last Duramax LML would take 1000 miles to look anything close to that. My Kubota stuff takes many hours.

Fair enough. Vast majority of folks here are more knowledgeable than myself. Just posting my results
