Neither my Ariens Sno-Tek snow blower or my Champion 5500W portable generator came with a factory installed inline fuel filter.

Seems like an odd omission to me.

Did your portable generator or snow blower come from the factory with a fuel filter installed?

Have you looked inside your tank for a rock-catcher filter above the petcock?

+1

Many of the Clone engines have the filters (a screen) in the bottom of the tank as well as one on the filler neck for the tank.

generators no, lawnmower no, snowblower no, weedeater yes but in tank one. Same with leafblower and chainsaw. my 4 stroke stuff no but all 2 stroke stuff has filters.

Have a brand new one in the garage. $2400 tank treaded 30" Cub Cadet with a 420cc engine. No oil filter, and no air filter. Has heated handles though.

They have a screen built into the petcock, and usually another screen where you fill with gas. The bigger carbs are more tolerant. It's the tiny carbs on weedeaters and stuff that need the fine filters.

My generator and pressure washer both have in-tank fuel filers (screens) because they're Honda GX powered. Can't remember if the Subaru powered mower has a fuel filter or not. I think not as it has a fine strainer in the fuel filler. It has a 2-stage air cleaner and a spin on oil filter though!

To answer the question, my snow blower did not, though there is a little sock at the pickup in the tank.
Generator and lawn tractor yes. Everything else no. However, all my OPE gets a fuel filter from day one. I use the 150 micron red disk Briggs filters for the small stuff and the tractor which has a fuel pump gets the 75 micron white disk Briggs filter.

Never have, but will take a look now that you mention it.

Good question, perhaps internally, I will have to find out.

When you start to have problems with it...you'll know why.
