Derek is Irish. At least he is listenable. Who the heck is that other clown he is working with, the poor mans Chris Berman? I like to hear the engines during the race, but have to turn off the volume for the CBS races. Speedchannel do a far better job, and have announcers that know something about Formula 1 and don't need to shout to be heard.

Did CBS pay top dollar for these races, or is Bernie trying to build a US fan base and giving them a deal? It's hard to imagine a network would pay a ton of money for the race, then get a third string announcer to anchor the broadcast.

Apart from the run into turn 1, lap 1, were there any passes on the track during the race? I missed most of the race and caught only the last 10 laps.

yeah, irish. doh! it also seemed like those announcers weren't sure who was driving on several occassions. they were stepping on each others' stories and lines, and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!

there was some overtaking, but a lot of it was towards the back of the field.

this was a race of attrition. m schumacher said he and ruben probably wouldn't have been on the podium w/o the leaders going out.

kimi's steering wheel was pointing left for quite a bit of the race as well.

jpm did get screwed.

i've got my tix for the usgp this weekend. leaving wednesday night so i can go to the open garage thursday morning.

hopefully the gp girls are better looking than last year.
