Did you buy yourself any tools for Christmas?

Another Lisle hood prop...now have enough to never not use one. Heard of one too many wrist/finger stories lately.
My car has a prop rod that folds down across the top of the radiator and goes up to a slot in the hood. What does one of these do that mine doesn't? Why use one of these rather than the one built into the car? Not too mechanical so hoping to learn something new.

This hood and spare weigh in at 80+ lbs. and the stock prop mechanism relies on a ~1/4" pin, plus I have grown fond of my arms and cranium over the years :-)

The Lisle is a safety device that backs up or substitutes for a stock rod or lift struts, useful when replacing lift struts.

Ah, never thought about that application. I was thinking in terms of my stock Ford Escape.

I am sure I will receive some gift cards from my kids. I have been thinking about getting a jump box as I have never had one......still use jumper cables when need arises. I know several of you on BITOG have them, and I would appreciate any feedback on the brands you like.
I can’t speak for long-term durability, but I received a Stanley jump box with inflator. I don’t remember the model, but it has a digital display, usb, and came from Costco or Sam’s. I like that I can set the psi I want and it will automatically stop. It also screws onto the valve stem vs using a lever to affix itself to the valve stem.

A "gift" to myself was to buy a blow torch to repair a burst pipe - couldn't find the old one.
