Normally one of the worst ideas ever.

This is called a "clipper Vac" and MDC Romani corp has the " cadillac" of them.

The speciality nature of this and the fact that it was on the list for Santa actually worked for me v putting me IN the doghouse..

Mrs. UD was happy to receive this, and as a guy that works for a manufacturer, I cant believe we paid what we did for it.
I must admit it's absolutely the right tool for the job. She used a bigger version of this when she groomed for a living.

The pet grooming industry relies on these daily, and it makes the job of clipping anything WAY easier and quicker, cooling the clippers, pulling in hair and sucking it right onto the vac making for a super quick cleanup.

It's basically an industrial version of a flowbee if you are old enough to remember that.

Merry Christmas or whatever you celebrate everybody !

Very cool!

Very cool!

Since the wife grooms the dog, me, the neighbors kids, & the boys when they come to visit making this job easier for her directly impacts my quality of life.

The win win here is that she believes and feels its a gift for her, in reality it's a gift for me.

I remember the Flowbee! I'm also old enough to have been subjected to these. I had very curly hair and it was torture.

yeesh!

I was the only white kid in town with an afro, but I was never subjected to that.
My incident accompanied a hair straitening for a family picture. Fortunately, I was never subjected to that again. I finally got smart enough to wear it as an afro in my early teens. I'd love to have that hair back instead of the opposite!

If, Momma ain't happy: Ain't nobody happy. Merry Christmas.

She must have to lower that grooming table a bit when it's your turn? 🤣

I didn't know such a thing existed, but looks way better than me taking my shop vac to all the hair after I clip my dog!

As with most things, the prize is in the eye of the beholder. If she sees it as a gift, you win and your life got easier.

FWIW, I have bought my wife several items in the last 30 years that didn't seem like a gift to me.
In the same breath, she doesn't see lingerie as a gift for her... :ROFLMAO: 🤷‍♂️

Just my $0.02

"When a mommy and a daddy love each other very much"...

On top of general cleanliness the air flow buys you something like 2 vs 10 passes with the clipper and the constant air keeps the blades from getting hot and burning the subject and shortening blade life.
Normally you have to shock cool the blades with a spray or swap out clipper with a spare.

I use ceramic blades so heat isn't usually a problem, but it still takes me close to 2 hours and then trying to get rid of all the loose hair in the coat is a pain.

Grooming a dog is a real pain without a clipper vac.

I remember the wife going back and forth on the ceramic blades years ago.
She was a mobile pet groomer for years before arthritis struck. Hugely profitable and always busy. One of the very few 5 star groomers she had a huge business grooming for celebrities and sports figures in beverly hills. She was so busy she couldn't take new clients and her van had absolutely zero advertising on it. The gift baskets we'd get at Christmas were ridiculous.

Her take at that time was if she didnt have a pro sharpening guy they were the way to go, but with a sharpening guy on call the value prop went back to steel.

The sharpening guy was on a regular rotation and also changed out carbon brushes in equip that used them like the K9II dryers.

Yeah I'll chime in and probably get in trouble! I bought the girlfriend a vacuum one year because she was always moaning about how her vacuum wasn't picking up.

All I can say is I got my ass kicked for months after that!
