Did you buy yourself any tools for Christmas?

Have bought myself a knife i. the past like that.

Have put some tools onto my Amazon wish list, probably got one or two that way. If your wife buys it, using money from your joint bank account, does that coumt?

Nabbed a GearWrench hose hook set and ratcheting serp belt tool from a Black Friday sale, if that counts. Also bought myself some Milwaukee box cutters while picking up my father-in-laws Christmas gift.

Well you could say they were Christmas presents for myself haha. I regularly buy tools though. Who knows what I got for Christmas I wasn’t asked for a list which is disappointing but I will be happy with whatever I get. The one thing I really wanted I know I’m not going to get because it is not a tool it’s for my hobby of collecting license plates but it’s a membership to the American License Plate Collectors Association. I was really disappointed I didn’t get asked what I wanted but my family is really struggling for money right now so it’s understandable. I help where I can. I’ll just get it with my next paycheck if I don’t get it for Christmas. We are going to my grandmas and aunts now for Christmas so I’m happy to see what I get from them usually they get me some tools.

I am sure I will receive some gift cards from my kids. I have been thinking about getting a jump box as I have never had one......still use jumper cables when need arises. I know several of you on BITOG have them, and I would appreciate any feedback on the brands you like.

Well if your car is dead in a parking lot the best solution is to have heavy duty jumper cables and find someone in the parking lot like me with a dual battery pickup.

The NOCO lithium ion is nice because it can be left in the trunk, not needing to be charged for months and not too much effected by temperature.

The jump pack with SLA batteries needs to be charged probably monthly and won't do much good if it's 0F out and your can won't start and your jump pack is also 0F in the trunk. But you can get larger capacity ones for a reasonable price. The one I have is ATD. Large capacity NOCO get expensive.

I have two sets of heavy duty jumpers, a NOCO in my truck and a SLA jump pack in garage where it stays pretty warm.

Handing a stranded motorist your NOCO might be better for your own car. He can only screw up your NOCO not your car.

Lastly at home if you can wait, it's much better to charge the dead battery than jump the car and push the alternator to charge a dead battery.

Milwaukee M12 ratchets and rotary tool.
M18 tire inflator and 2.5gal Packout wet/dry vacuum.
Milwaukee Inkzall large tip permanent marker.
A tool for me as a flatbed truck driver, a boatload of tie down ratchet straps.

Wife and I decided we should be setting an example for the kiddos by actually exchanging gifts rather than our typical just buying what we want for ourselves when we want, so I wrapped up socks and some jeans I bought for myself from a slickdeal for "when I need them", and a couple of other odds and ends between the two of us (2 external SSD, sewing machine, airpods - well airpods box my wife couldn't wait, books and a Christmas ornament).

Bought me a Craftsman 20v drill at Lowes, Daughters give me Lowes/Home Depot gift cards, much appreciated, the wife and I bought both of them 55" Vizio Smart tv's. wife got herself a Jacket she's been eyeing. :)

This is kind of the opposite of getting yourself tools for Christmas. A few months ago wife bought a hand held cordless vacuum to vacuum small messes when she did not want to get out her Kenmore canister. But it's a crappy one. So I got her a Milwaukee M12 cordless hand held vacuum. Was looking at a similar M18 one but it's kind of odd shaped I thought and heavier.

And earrings she asked for.

We pulled names for Christmas gifts but I posted my favourite potential gift on the fridge. We’ll see. I’ll report back.
Yes! I got it. It’s an inspection camera. It’s branded as Canadian Tire Mastercraft.

I bought a $300 heater and $200 in kerosene to unfreeze my hot water. Last one at Tractor Supply, Lowe's and HD were sold out. I better be able to use this stupid thing again, but it was worth it.
