Lousy pour point and just OK for most of the other relevant data. No thanks pass I'll on that.
Castrol

That is for Castrol Edge Titanium, which has been obsolete data since 2012. Wolf is looking at Castrol EDGE w/ Syntec Technology. Syntec tends to be a bit thinner and a little more stable. Titanium is meant for higher temp regions or for power production.

As stated previously the high TBN makes the Castrol look pretty good for an extended OCI.

Frankly the car probably won't notice the difference. But a BITOG type OCD personality will!

Castrol EDGE w/ Syntec technology has a TBN of 11.3 in the 5W30 weight, whereas Quaker State Ultimate Durability has a TBN of 8.5. That 2.7 higher, I think it is a no-brainer considering you are looking for a good based on your driving style and should be able to get 12-15,000kms out if it no issue.

Yes indeed! The higher TBN of the Castrol will allow you to go further between OCI's but, it the OP is only changing at low km's then, either will surfice.

Good luck btw. Oh and the 1.8 I have personally witnessed does not really like M1 - based on a buddy of mines 1.8 NA Cruze.

The higher virgin TBN tells you nothing about TBN retention and therefore how long either oil can be run.
Only a series of UOAs for each oil across comparable engines in comparable service can do that.
In this case, long drain potential has little importance, since the OP should be changing either yearly or at OLM 0% while under warranty, whichever comes first, at a minimum.
To answer the OP's question, I'd use the QSUD.
It's cheaper and the various UOAs we've seen here show that it's well up to the job.
