Thanks! Parts stores work a bit different here, and it's a bit monopolised. Each manufacturer has only one authorised dealer, and they are the sole importers of OE parts for their brand. Whilst we haven't got something similar to say NAPA, there are third parties (generally large trading firms) who purchase parts from dealers in bulk and sell them to the general public for less than the RRP. Third parties usually import aftermarket parts, such as MOOG or Raybestos for instance. Authorised dealerships themselves also open parts stores separate from their in house parts divisions, and sell parts at slightly cheaper cost as well. But OE parts are all you will find there.

It's an MK2.5, with the wide body style, which ran from 1998-2000...so it is the final year for the old shape. MKIII is 2001+ here. MKII ran from 1991-1997.
First step was to dismantle the spare wheel assembly and wash the truck twice with 5 times the recommended strength of Sonax Gloss Shampoo, followed by an 2 applications of 3M's Super Duty rubbing compound. I followed that up with 3M Scratch Remover (too many swirls), and 2 coats of Meguiar's Tech Wax 2.0. The final step was a touch of Turtle Wax Carnauba. Here are some pictures:
