Now that my school finals are done with... This summer I will be completely OFF for the first time since 2004 or so when back in high school... I have no internships (first time in four years or so) and I only work one day a week for my uncle... I finally have a summer to really put some TLC back into my car. I do detailing as a side hobby, but the last two years or so I have not had any time to really keep up with it how I like. So now that I am free for the next few months, my car will be getting a ton of care.
In the past week I have already installed new spark plugs, oil change (Pennzoil Platinum 0W20!), cleaned my AEM dryflow filter (have to remove battery to access it) and cleaned the engine bay and interior. A few weeks back during Easter break I was able to bleed and replace the brake fluid. So I have been getting stuff done I have wanted to. I plan to do my ATF Drain/Fill again here soon as well, very easy on my car. I have been doing it every 25K although I know the fluid is life-long, yada yada. Just need to have my brother get some ATF fluid for me (he works at toyota dealership).
So here are two pictures... The engine bay all cleaned up nicely. Cleaned all the plastic, conditioned all the rubber hoses, cleaned battery and the terminals and applied dielectric grease to them.
And a shot of the interior... Vacuumed, conditioned the dashboard and interior plastics, as well as all the seals around the doors. Cleaned the seat fabrics and all that other fun stuff. Cleaned out glove box as well.
I would say it looks pretty good for a car that just hit 70K! Still looks and drives like brand new!
I can't wait to start the exterior detail... Probably start next week on it and will take a few days. Will include wash, clay, paint correction and wax/sealant. Along with trim and all that other fun stuff. I take pride knowing my car has 70K well earned miles in Cleveland winters and still the paint looks better then many show room cars! aka... No swirls!
