Havoline's website is now up!

No Depsit Shield in synthetic oil.

My engine has precious metals? Should I be checking for gold in my next UOA?

I should offer to edit that website, and correct the grammar:

"Through using the American Petroleum Institute's SM technology, all grades of Havoline with Deposit Shield maintain viscosity at higher temperatures for longer periods of time than many competitors, making it an excellent choice..."

should be:
By using the American Petroleum Institute's SM technology, every grade of Havoline with Deposit Shield maintains viscosity at higher temperatures for longer periods of time than many competitors, making it an excellent choice..."

Wow that looks like quakerstate marketing ugh
and I quote

Not all cars are designed to run synthetic motor oil. That's why there's conventional Havoline with Deposit Shield. Designed for small cars and light trucks with high-revving engines, Havoline offers seven different SAE grades to help ensure the right match for your car or truck.

API's technology?

Obviously, the engineers weren't consulted before all that nonsense was approved.

OOO!! OOO!!! I know whats next!

Deposit shield fuel injector cleaner
Deposit shield coolant
Deposit Shield Throttle body cleaner
Deposit shileld brake fluid
etc..etc..

Thanks for the link, you beat me to it! LOL

I've just come to ignore the marketing aspect of all the oil brands. Are their any left that don't hype/exaggerate their product? Not many that I can think of. I'm sure it's good oil. I'm not quite sure what was wrong with the old stuff??

Agree with Oilyriser.... Much better grammar. Nice job. As far as the oil? Marketing can work magic on pretty much the same oil as before...

I really want to know what the magic bullet is that Havoline is now using? This so called "Deposit Shield". Does Valvoline have it, but unadvertised?

"Help preserve your valuable investment by using Havoline Synthetic Motor Oil—so advanced it doesn't need Deposit Shield. Designed for sport utility vehicles, high performance and luxury cars, Havoline's advanced detergent technology is a coating shield that protects your engine from harmful deposits."

The synthetic "doesn't need" Deposit Shield? At least it comes in 5w-40.
