I found some solid deposit like the size of a quarter on the bottom of my measurement bottle.

I added more new FP60 in it, shook it up, and it dissolved.

I put the stuff in my lawn mower gas.

What is this stuff? Would this settle on the bottom of my gas tank and clog my fuel filter?

Another Austinite!

My 1gal bottle gets stuff that separates out over time. The FP60 bottles mention to shake up before pouring into the tank. So I'd assume your measurement bottle should be shaken too.

Not sure what exactly is falling out of the mixture, though.

Dye

Can we not speculate? The stuff that falls out of mine is white, not Orange or whatever color my FP60 jug is.

Why bother re-shaking dye back into it?

It is part dye, but more so part of the additive package in FP60. Odis had told us many years back it was dye, but as we work with it we have noticed it before the dye is added and found it to be part of the additive pack used in FP60 falling out of suspension and needs to be shaken up.

The stuff I saw was dark red, almost Aggie maroon.

BIOMED asked the right question. Does it dissolve fully in gas? Does the fall out do harm in the long run, in your tank?

THe solution to pollution is dilution. with the greater volume of fluid in the fuel tank and the FP diluted, plus the constant agitation of the fuel while you drive I can't see this being a major issue.

Yeah. But, I go through a lot of trouble adding FP to my tank every time I fill up, thinking that I am doing my car a huge favor. If there is a remote chance I am doing some harm, it offsets everything, you know.

We can appreciate your concern, but FP60 will not in anyway harm your fuel system, engine, ect. The dye is in such small amounts and is made for fuels.

FP60 mixes into fuel very well and will not settle out in fuel. Remember there is 50 years behind these products with not a single issue.....use with confidence.

Also no intention to make it Aggie maroon.....If it were up to me it would be green since LC20 is gold...care to take a guess???
