This filter came off my '96 Grand Prix, in use for 3k miles. Pretty sure I paid $4 and some change on Rockauto. I thought it was pretty decent overall, perhaps with the exception of the crooked seam, but it didn't seem to hurt anything. Looks like it has a lot of miles left in it. Not as good of construction / fit & finish as the old Denso blue filters (those had an orange silicone ADBV,) but I'd happily run one of these filters again. Oil used was Chevron Delo Synthetic 5w-40. Replaced with a Bosch (german made, possibly Mann) filter and Harvest King Synthetic 5w30.

From what I can tell it looks like the can itself has some heft to it.
Looks good to me. If I was looking for a cheaper filter this would be a good option.

No, FL-400S is a 3/4 thread, this one is an 18x1.5mm thread. Size is equivalent to a PH3980 (popular GM filter), no bypass valve.

I ordered the Denso FTF 150-2015 last night from Rock Auto for $3 to use on a 2004 Chevy Venture I recently acquired for $200, based on your OP it looks like I made a good decision.
