I see your point. That could be corrected by adding a bottle of Redline Breakin Additive to my 30qt sump, which would raise Ca to 4200 but raise Zn to 1470 and P to 1320.
Does anyone know specifically what the boron containing additive does? Is it antiwear, detergent, or what? It has more boron than most oils in the sticky in this miniforum.
It is not supposed to be used in anything except European mfg'd heavy duty diesels, according to the TDS.
The only way I could obtain the stuff was for my Mobil distributor to order 55 gal in 5 gal square jugs on a pallet, from a warehouse in Illinois. No shipping charge, however.
