Would Delo Severe Duty 15w30 be a good choice of oil for a Husqvarna push mower with a Kohler engine? It's on sale at O'Reilly's this month for $12.99/gallon. Thanks.
Yes, but certainly not necessary. Pretty much any 10w30, 15w30 or 10w40 and the engine will outlast the rest of the mower. Kohler recommends 10w30, ( http://www.kohlerengines.com/maintenance/faqs.htm ) and since that's on sale as well, I would try the syn blend Delo 10w30.
No I would not use it on a pull start in the cooler months. My Honda self propelled pull start gets 10w30 conventional per manual during the cooler months, and straight 30 during the summer months. I am still bagging leaves in December, and staight 30 makes it harder to pull start than does the 10w30.

You weren't kidding! Just checked and it's $27.99/gallon.

Pull start. The only time it gets below freezing here is in the early in morning during the winter and I don't mow those months.

This.
As long as it has the proper level and gets changed every now and then the engine will run longer than you care for it to on whatever kind of engine oil you put in it. No need for special oils but if it makes you feel better go for it.

I agree.
Give your push mower xxw30 and/ or xxw40 leftovers or just buy a cheap conventional and it'll be happy.
I dont think I have ever had to go out and buy engine oil strictly for a push mower though. Lol.

I wonder how the last generation ever survived pull starting SAE30 (gasp)
