I am a new diesel owner (Duramax) and I just recently changed the oil for the first time. I used Chevron Delo 400 (15w 40). This is available at Costco at a good price. I noticed that the box says ISO/SYN on the side. Is this a synthetic blend?

No, it is chevron's name for the GII base oil it uses. It's pretty good stuff I've been told.

Yea, it's Chevron's isodewaxing process which yields a very pure base dino oil. They are great for offering top quality oil for cheap prices. The delo 400 is a favorite among many truckers and mechanics I have known.

Delo 400 is a well proven motor oil ,but all ch4 and ci4 oils are incredable, Costcos price makes Delo the winner.

Curious about the good price. Our local Wal-Mart gets $6.17 a gallon or $1.72 a qt. What is Costco's price.

In Redding california Costco price in the 6 gallon case is 36.48 or breaks down to 1.52 per quart out the door .

Is the Delo 400 straight 30 weight an ISO/SYN - Group II oil? Please disregard ... just found Chevron's product data sheet. (No, it's not.)
