Is there an available oil similar to the discontinued Delo 400 SD 15W-30?

Or did the lack of interest/sales with the Delo 15W-30 potentially deter another manufacturer from making a similar oil?

I missed out on trying the Delo. It may have been a great oil for my 7.3.

What about it peaked your interest? Regular Delo 15w-40 will shear down to 30 grade pretty quick giving you a 15w-30 anyway.
You are touching on it.

I read where folks stated it was really shear stable with less viscosity modifiers. Some felt it was closer to a straight 30W oil.

Curious more than anything.

The 7.3 is happy with whatever hdeo is in it and it takes a lot of oil. If it was mine I'd use this 15w-40 first as that's what both of my old trucks get and they love it. I'd use the 10w-30 if it gets near 0f. Mag 1 is the house brand of warren highline and they make supertech and other oils so it's a quality oil to use and I've bought a lot of this hdeo. I always buy enough to get free shipping. Lowes has 5 gallon buckets too but for no further reduction in cost per quart but it's less convenient and I feel bad about making delivery drivers lug it off the truck. 2.5 gal jugs aren't as punishing as buckets.

Rolled out in 2014, Delo SD 15w30 was advertised as a fuel economy option for urban delivery trucks that started and stopped all day long and never reached operating temperature.
Featured in monthly trucker’s publications and TV advertisements with class 8 tractors having a tug of war on a container sea dock with a 3,000 horsepower tug boat.
Chevron even offered free UOAs to prove that 15w30 protected as well as 15w40 in regional transport trucks.
The public didn’t buy the hype and soon dust collected on pallets of the oil and posts of guys buying it for a buck a quart were showing up.

The HTHS was rumoured to be in the 3.6-3.7 range. Nowadays synthetic and synthetic blends achieve that offering better fuel economy and longer service life than the ill fated 15w30.

The grade still exists in farm universal engine/ tractor transmission oils that might top up a Caterpillar TO-4 once in a while.

A 10W-30 HDEO should be about the same thing.
Looks like a good option.
I'm with the others.. an HDEO 10w-30 was already on the market but Chevron wanted something different. It didn't sell well so to the chopping block it went. I think it was probably the shortest lived diesel product I've seen LOL. There was nothing special about that 15w-30. Any 10w-30 HDEO will work just as well in its place. Otherwise, if towing heavy or just want a good buffer 5w-40 for cold climates or 15w-40 if you can plug in when below around 20F. My old 7.3L diesel worked quite well with the 5w-40 flavors in starting ability when cold. Also, I tested the new Super Tech Full Synthetic 15w-40 from Walmart. You can look in that link or in my sig link for VOA on HDEO CK-4 oils the board has tested in one place.
