Dealer Pricing Reasonable?

Just bought a battery from Walmart for that price, so I think it’s reasonable. Brake fluid, if they run the lines after cracking bleeders, good price. Full cvt flush, same, but if its a drain and fill, too much for the 2L exchanged.

Decent. I had my Silverado brake flushed last year at a local incredible Indy shop for $109 and I just got a new battery from Walmart for like $179-189 two weeks ago. So those don’t seem bad at all for a dealer.

That doesn't seem terrible to me.
Brake fluid is often neglected so it's nice of you to get to it. Dot 3, Dot 4? Honda Spec?

2017 Corolla
CVT fluid $290
Brake system flush $120
New battery 84 month warranty $190

Didn't think this was outrageous. What do you all think? They cleaned all the battery cables and sprayed with the anti acid stuff, too. Professional job.

Good deal.

I think they said they do a drain and fill only unless you're having issues like shuddering or other noticeable things. The invoice said 4 liters. So not sure if that's padding $$$ or if they somehow do more than the 2 you were thinking.

The battery price sounds very reasonable.
Yeah, Costco for flooded (not AGM) is like $135 with a 2 or 3 year warranty. Any other battery place or parts store they're at least $175. Basically everything has a 2 or 3 year warranty now. So when I heard about the 84 month pro rated, I was like, "that seems like a decent deal." The old one was testing good but a little lower than previously on my equipment and their system showed "moderate" with needing attention soon. I can't remember all the numbers, but they've fallen over the last year or two. But I got 9 years out of this battery (OE). They said they thought the Toyota US ones are Interstate but said they have good luck with them. But they also said it'll like not last 9 years as the OE from factory are often Panasonic and last a long time overall.

They did quote me for plugs and an oil change (cause I did both on my own in the last year so they "recommended" those services) and $90 for an oil change is silly. I'll keep the $18 Costco, Super Tech filter combo going on that little engine and I'm sure it'll last longer than the CVT LOL But I've been overall happy with this dealer. They run multiple brans (Nissan, Cadillac, Toyota, Subaru, Chevrolet) so I enjoy a long walk dreaming about plopping $30K on an AWD hybrid Camry...cause Siennas are never in stock!

Sounds like they dropped the pan. Price is more reasonable if so.

$290 for a CVT Fluid Exchange is marketing speak; it's just a 4 qt drain and refill.
Not disagreeing; for the money I'd prefer to see a proper exchange (is it ok to call it a flush? people get worked up over that). But the belly pan has to be dropped, the driver wheel comes off, and you have to pull the pan off and deal with that gasket. Probably is an hour of work plus whatever 4L of Toyota branded fluid costs. Not awful and if done every 30-60k probably not what does the transmission in.

I talked with a tech the first time I had it done and he said they avoid ever breaking the factory seal unless necessary or having issues. If I remember correctly, they pull the plug, drain what comes out (a few liters), and then fill it back to with the proper procedure and proper temps and all that. So no internal filters changed or replaced.

Hmm, pretty sure it was only 2L that came out when I did the job. It's been a while though. Quick look shows I'm right (as long as you remove the plastic "straw" otherwise it's more like 1.3L). However, they could refill, start it up, let it circulate, then do another D&F. Or perhaps they just have a fixed charge.

Regardless, it's better than not changing at all.

When FE first launched, I believe it was only sold in 4L cans. Dealers may have setup a canned job description that included 4 quarts of fluid for every CVT drain and refill.
