Dealer acquisition dept. wants to purchase a vehicle I’m selling privately.

As others have said, it costs you nothing to get quotes from KBB and Carvana. They might give you some leverage. However, it’s perfectly OK to take a good offer and avoid the hassle. I sold my 2019 Ford Focus to a dealer who contacted me after I checked it on KBB just based on a whim. They offered me $1000 more than the KBB offer and reduced it $300 when they saw the scratches on the bumper, which I totally expected.

So what did they do when you went up there? Also, what are the sales tax implications in your state?
