I have the one similar to jalopnik minus a feature or two, I paid about $20 free shipping on ebay straight from Hong Kong.
I've had it for over two years now without a problem. The only issue is that onboard battery lasts about 2 hours for me. It is difficult to read a license plate without it being close to my car and in broad day light. The night IR LED for night vision on mine are simple WHITE LEDs lol.
I plan on getting one that has a second camera that is detached so that I can hook it up to my rear windshield to record my car's butt. I've had more close calls on that side than on my front ;-)
