13 dollars out the door I buy them each and every time. So I do an oil change every 3 to 4 months. I spend that much on stupid stuff, like pop, chips, movies and shopping for stuff not needed. The expense for a car payment and insurance isn't all that cheap. It' like having health insurance on your car. 2 to 20 micron particles are what causes the most engine wear, hopefully this thing will do at least 10 micron particles sizes as Mobil 1 claims the EP version can.
I grabbed a Gold last time I was at NAPA, while I was there I asked about the the Platinum and nobody had any idea what I was talking about. Guess I won't be trying one anytime soon.
Had some time to kill tonight, so I stopped a Napa with the Platinum part # info and got them to look it up for me. None in stock, not even in the warehouse but it is listed and priced at $15.99 for a 41040. Most recent price I have is $9.68 for a Gold 1040 but that's from 2010.
That's par with a K&N here and a buck more than an M1. Not as bad as I thought it would be.

Lol how do you figure you will get a discount?? just by asking because you are about to purchase a lot of stuff??
Yes, I just went to a (local by you & me) NAPA and got NAPA Gold's for $3.45 each. ** SCORE!!! **
I hope this finds everyone in good spirits! Napa is a running a sale. There Platinum oil filters are on sale. They are $1.50 off.
Just thought I would share my findings......
Not for nothing. I just ask for a discount at NAPA and most of the time they give me a 10% discount, including parts. Believe it or not I've had Mitsubishi stealer give me discount. All I did was ask in a friendly way.
Will stick with P1's that I've used for about four years now...with my average price (after rebated) about $3.50.
I am considering the Fram Ultra (a 15K long-term filter. Have read many good reports about them.....and would use them for two OCI's.
At $8.97 at WM...looks like a best buy.
I've settled on 5,000 mile oil changes. But, if I were going for 10,000 miles or more I would put up the extra bucks for a super deluxe filter like that.
