I really enjoy looking at all the photos of cut open oil filters (thanks!) but I would like to make one request.
I know that we're all in a rush to post photos (myself included) but I would like to ask that before taking your photos (especially of the filter element itself) that you place it on its side on some kind of blotter for 24 hours or so to allow for the excess oil to drain off.
Some of the photos of the elements are so oil soaked it's hard to tell what I'm looking at. This is especially true of damaged ones.
Thanks and keep posting those photos!
