Took over yard work for my father in-law who is 89, Changed out the oil & filter for the first time on it I do believe. At least 6 years old.

One can tell by the shape of the cannister it did not want to depart

That filter had been in service for 6 years? How did the media and ADBV hold up? They look good in the pic.

Looks decent enough ... she was on tight, eh? Nice channel lock prints in the can.

Yes sir and oil as far as anyone knows ADBV was till intact & flexible ..... And used a slip on filter wrench on it and it was still a bear.

Doesn't look bad, I am curious on the pliability of the ADBV..

EDIT:NVM, question was answered above while I was typing this.

Used once a year,( Several times a season) Oil was black as tar but not thick. Air filter was never changed as well, NAPA to bring replacements tomorrow . The engine liable to blow -up with this new blood & air. lol

What brand of lawn tractor, etc.? Too bad B&S gouges customers on its filter prices, but NAPA is always a good source. I use Baldwin filters in my Snapper tractor.

Sears Craftsman 42 inch cut. No one ready knows when it was bought, new blades and clutch cable replaced in 08 so who knows. I was beginning to think the filter was build on it was so tight .

Your B&S engine takes the same oil filter as mine. Napa carries another alternative more similar in size to the original shorty. Part number is TWD B7165 and it sells for $6.39. Baldwin part number is B7165, which is what I use.

Yep is was just a bit longer than the Briggs filter. relative owns a NAPA cost to me was 2.80 !
