Thanks for the peek inside.

What's with ACDelco's "additional part numbers" There's a 19330000 on the filter.

There's always some long number on ACDelco parts.

The official GM part number.

Thanks for the cut & post -- looks good. Just pulled one of those off a friends car with 7616 miles on it. Was wondering how it held up -- but by your pics -- I feel confident it did its job for the mileage it sustained during its OCI.

I could only find the same

You guys are welcome of course.

Interestingly it did not have the typical Champion labs coding on the top... I am not sure what is up with that.

Still not a fan of the pleat spacing on that one. Thought they were packing more media into the Ecores? Unfortunately I can think of a host of other filters I would use before those, even the lowly Extra Guard would be better (due to the metal center tube over the plastic cage).

New PF63e, used orange can, used FU’s …

I think it looked ok other than the media spacing like the Watsamata U. graduate said. If I were going to use the AC Delco filter, I would stop by the green parts store of Irish heritage and get the non-ecore.

Well, e-core had some e-friends … doubt its going away … but on this wide pleat business …

They need room for the machine to close things up … if doing so made for a problem, put it out there. If it does not look pretty, well OK, that’s a different story … but I posted pictures that compared an OCoD to PF63E … neither my favorite (it’s in pics too) … but does anyone see more pleats on the cheap Fram … (both cheap filters) …

I don’t have any problem with these filters, true the pleats aren’t that pretty. I don’t seek them out either - this one and the one before were used by the GM dealer when they did an oil change.

I doubt that an Orange Can would do anything much different or have more media. Its pretty hard to complain about the amount of media in the PF63E, it seems to have plenty in there.

The plastic core is a good feature, cleaner, and since it is a molded part, not going to be cut short like the center tube on the Fram made for Honda shown before. Little to no vertical stress on the pleats. Champ labs says it is twice as strong as steel.

DuckRyder - thanks for the cut and post.

I consider the bypass valve an improvement over the combo valves used by it's siblings. If it fits, I would use one.

Nice pics.... thanks!
Looking at the info link on AC Delco Ecore filters like the one shown above, the Ecore versions are designed to produce better flow.

For many years I purchased PF61 instead of PF61E. Then from 2009-2016 (when I quit AC Delco), I got startup rattle with the non-Ecore version.

After I finish my last K&N Gold filter, I may buy a PF61E and see if there's a difference on cold startup.
BTW.... K&N lovers will find Amazon Prime now selling the black colored K&N (Silver?) for only $4.99. I just purchased two.

I am pro-flow with my 3.5 Chevy Colorado. Finding full-flow filters that won't tear or come unglued is what I'm currently purchasing. My wife's 3.4 Malibu is fine using Fram Ultras.

Yeah, thick enough to employ a short center tube (seen in the 2nd to last photo).
