Cut 'em Open

The Harbor Freight in the town close to me has the chain link style too that has the roller cutters in each link. I had an old one that worked well. I figure it will cut up to at least 6 inches across. It was $11.95 at Harbor Freight.

Thanks for all the replies. As it turned out, I had an order going to Summit anyway, so I added their filter cutter.

hmm, those remind me of some of the bigger pipe cutters I have around the house, I might try one of those when I change my oil next time. I'll just be careful to not crush it and i'll have my hacksaw standing by as a backup.

I've never seen even a slight shaving of metal in my filters and they all look perfectly clean inside, I don't know why I check *every* time.
