One of my doors dont have the vapour barrier anymore.
I searched up and found what I need.

I went to home depot and got plastic drop sheet.
I only got 0.75mil. Is that too thin? The next one up is 3mil.

I checked home depot and Canadian tire. Both don't have butyl tape or 3M windowweld tape. Where should I go next to find it in up north?

3-5mil. 3M spray adhesive is better, IMO. Butyl is too thick to let the door card sit perfect.

OK. I'll get the sheet replaced with 3mil.

Can't the butyl be pushed flatter?
I just feel it allows more flexibility in the event that I have to fix something behind the door.

I tried with windshield butyl and couldn't push it flat enough.

Perhaps I applied too thick to sea, and should have drawn it a lot thinner to start.

I believe 3m sells the butyl in a caulk tube too. Something about it is slightly different iirc.

But my MBs for example, never used butyl, just adhesive. Easy enough to just spritz a bit more on...

Acklands-Grainger has a lot of 3M stuff and they have a few locations in and around Toronto.

I would just use some silicone caulk, readily available.

Home Depot has the red tape that is used on vapour barriers in construction. You could use that tape. I would even just use duct tape if that is all I had on hand.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I am not debating on which film to use.
plastic drop or thicker vapour shield which I am not sure if home depot has.
