CRV VTC actuator issue

2012 CRV with the Never ending VCT actuator issue. I have read that if I thickened the oil from the 0w-20 it might stick to the actuator and not have that nasty grinding noise on a cold start. I saw a suggestion for the liqui Molly 22606... Any thoughts on dumping a bottle of that in there and seeing what happens. I've already changed that **** VCT actuator three times it isn't cheap. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Changing the VTC Actuator locking pin spring usually does the trick when oil is topped up and clean. Oil has an impact but this is mostly a mechanical issue that the new spring-start vtc spring resolves
To state the obvious, yes. The spring is not always a fix. There are other factors as well. The timing chain tensioner and the oil gallery that gives the TCT oil pressure from the oil filter block adapter are two of them. That gallery can be cleaned out with compressed air and perhaps some brake clean, with the TCT removed. Another factor is that some of the VTC actuators get gapping between the inner gear housing and the rotor vanes that the oil seals cannot compensate for. So at startup it takes more oil pressure and longer to fill the inside of the actuator. A fuel pump kill switch and cranking the engine for a two sets of a few seconds each stops the rattle.
