Holy Cow, Iron 147!

Vacuum leak, turbo, chip.

Is it still Running good?

I would be tempted to do a compression check or a leak down test to see if its still within specifications.

Well your other metals are O.K. I would run another test before panicing. The K&N could also be part of the problem. Sodium could be a problem as in coolant leak-but the potassium is still O.K.

You might want to consider. Terrry Dyson

yes I know that this analysis look strange , iron high , I have no coolant leak , car is running super strong same as before , water injection I always had it , I can run up to 16psi of boost on 89 octane compare that to 91 octane with out water, it starts to ping at 12 psi

So would you say if you had found the intake leak earlier or if it never had one at all through this interval you would have been happy with the oils performance ?

Any make-up oil needed through this interval ?

Could the high Fe be from a the esters retaining water from the water injection, causing oxidation and then scavanging it in a cyclic manner. The moly may contribute to this. It may be a great oil but not for your ride. Pure speculation on my part.

engine does't use ANY oil, to answer you other question I would never use this oil again, it lost it's viscosity big time ,plus I had lots of star-up noise ( on one lifter only ) . One could question why would I run oil for 10k when I had bad symptoms from the very beginning well, I was wandering If lots of moly makes for good oil , it does't , I was going to change this oil back to GC 0w30 but I could not find any so I went with XD3 0w40 that I had for my powerstroke , let me only say that now there is no noise what so ever

I dont think the SR1 woulda caused the iron to rocket? But most of the elementals are very high.. somethings wrong here. I dont think its the oils fault..

How did the engine sound and perform with the SR1 compared to the others?

The SR5 has more ZDDP and Mo. CHeck the UOA section.

Oh and I dont think WI had anything to do with it. But then again, you should be using distilled stuff yeah? Cos tap water left all kinds of deposits on my nozzles and intake..

I'm not a fan of long OCIs on an oil without rinsing the engine with the oil 1st(short OCI).

This UOA for the API SL Torco SR1 suck$. I'm a fan of not so popular brands but will not judge Torco without more UOAs.

The 10w40 would've been a better choice.

The filter might've failed. I personally hate the startup noise that the pureone filter causes in various vehicles that I've used it in. Either the ADBV isn't working, or the media is overly restrictive and the bypass isn't bypassing enough. I don't care to find out and don't use the pureone anymore.

Also, where is the VOA by the same lab? Not a fan of UOA comparisons to VOAs from different labs.

I too think that the other wear metals should be higher. What are the iron components wearing against???

Is this one of the torcos with MEGA moly?? They appear to vary from 1300 to 400 depending on what you're looking at
dunno.gif
If this oil falls into the former ..you had a good bit of moly uptake (and the alleged shedding of displaced metal ejecta). If the latter ...not much at all.

Pureone had nothing to do with start-up noise , I used it before in the same car with GC 0w30 no noise and now same oil filter with XD-3 0w40 and no noise again

Too much water injection could cause this if it was hindering the oil's ability to properly lubricate the rings.

Just a thought.

Water Injection could cause the iron level to increase... I'm not sure why anyone would use water injection. This is pretty old school thought

Might want to check your water injection rate. Also consider using a 50/50 mix of pure methanol and distilled water.

Old school or not, water injection, properly applied, is a low cost way to avoid harmful detonation at high boost levels if no one makes a properly engineered efficient intercooler for this application.
