Penzoil Platinum Pure Plus (aka PPPP or PPP+) 0w20
2013 I4 Accord, 6134 Miles. 15% OLM

The intelligent OLM hit 15% remaining oil life for all the UOAs.
The ~ numbers are extrapolated from the approximate miles at 15% and miles when I changed the oil.

Blackstone Labs.

It had the most fuel dilution but still retained a good viscosity and "low wear" Looks like a winner

Looks great! I am about to post my PPPP 0w20 UOA from my newly acquired 2012 Accord. Not trying to de-rail your thread, carry on!

Everything looks good, except the oil. Really low TBN for 6k miles, TAN would even be higher than the TBN. Even a conventional should handle 6k. I guess its because of the fuel dilution. Honda's OLM is really accurate.

TBN is 4.1 column on the right is the latest oil change

The UAOs are posted from left to right with earlier ones on the left. The first one is the factory oil which Honda is known for high moly in the FF. The next two are Mazda high moly 0w20 oil. The moly in the last one is the PPP+ and has residue from the previous.

I used the Mazda high moly at first because Honda recommends keeping the factory oil until the intelligent OLM is 15%. However, my driving pattern at the time caused the OLM to hit 15% at a lower mileage then many other Honda drivers.

My bad. Now everything looks good!

Very nice! Are you planning to stick with PurePlus, it seems to have served you well/

Anyone experienced want to fill me in on why there is such a difference between TBN with this latest OCI compared to the previous ones

The same lab was used for all the UOAs so I assumed it is because this was the first time I used Penzoil Pure Platinum Plus. Any other thoughts on this?

Yes, I have PPPP in it now.

Thanks for your reply.

The Honda has an intelligent Oil Life Monitor which gives the oil life remaining based on driving conditions. Honda recommends changing the oil when the iOLM is 15% or lower but before 0.

I've been doing the oil change shortly after 15% regardless of the miles. Others have gone more miles untill reaching 15% because they take longer/more highway trips.

It looks like it will be well over a year the next time the iOLM hits 15%. This is partly because I been away on several trips without my car. So far I've been away and not driving my Honda about 4 months combining my trips from the time of my last oil change. I've also been driving less when I'm home.

Anyway, most likely I will do the next oil change near 15% again as long as it not in the middle of winter. Most likely I'll be away this winter so I'm expecting 15% in the spring.
