Curious to see how many of you truck/SUV owners have done this, and with good or bad results?

Not looking to crank to full extension, just enough to get a good 1-2 inches.

And, when you cranked your torsion bars, did you do it with your wheels on the ground, or did you raise your front end?

Lots of folks do it. I had no issues when I did it to my 2000 F150. Keep in mind that I only had the truck for 1 year after I did this before it was traded in on another vehicle. There has been reported excessive ball joit wear on some vehicles after cranking up the bars.

Take the load off when you make your adjustments!
1-2 inches should pose no problems.
This is a good time to get the car perfectly level, as well.

Changes CV axle geometric angles. Someone will pay for new axle shafts eventually. More you raise, shorter their life. Also very much height increase and factory alignment adjustments will no longer be sufficient to set caster/camber properly.

Guess that's 1 good thing about having a 4x2 conversion, there are no CV axle shafts.

This is probably the only 4x2 I would actually put a lift on, because it gets me to places that only high clearance 4x4's would be able to accomplish.

And, it's much cheaper to own than a 4x4 - maintenance wise.
