Cost to replace AC compressor in a F550?

Have a mobile mechanic tell me $600 to replace the Camshaft position sensor, which is right under a AC Compressor. The sensor itself seems fairly straightforward. It's the AC compressor that's the issue. It's a F550 shuttle bus with 3 compressors. How hard is to to remove the compressor, $600 seems excessive or am I missing something?

What year and what engine? The fact that it has the extra compressors probably put the job in the realm of "quote high and make them go away."

I think it has nothing at all to with either sensor. Because it starts nicely when warm.

Cold start - good crank, fuel pressure - no start.

warm start - works just fine. Crank and quick start.

it's most likely the ECT sensor.
Does it matter if I get the OEM one or an aftermarket ECT is OK?
Or could it be the TABV (throttle air bypass valve) sticking?

It idles and runs very nice.

You are guessing without testing.. Try running a code scan. If a device is that bad to causing a no start, a code should be set. Electrical issues can act up during any temperature or condition so do not assume anything.
