Hi Guys.
Is it possible to use 33% coolant mix instead of factory recommended 50% ratio?
Any long/Short damage to the engine/Cooling system componants?
Cheers.
(2000 2.2L camry.)

You could use straight distilled water if you like, but your corrosion & boil-over protection is virtually nil (not sure you need to be concerned about freeze protection in Australia, going into spring). If you're just trying to hump it to the shop or an autocross lap it's fine but I wouldn't leave it like that for long. Long-term damage could be corrosion, especially in the water pump bearings.

Sydney doesn't get that cold in the winter(worst0c' where i live)
Summer is pretty hot 40c'+
So i thought 33% would be an ideal but i don't want to reduce the anti corrosion protection.
Then again vehicle manufacture doesn't know where the vehicle is going to be driven, it could be any where from Canada to Australia.
50% mix is good for freezing countries.May be 33% ok for Oz?

I would research forums in your location. From what i read a lot of folks in warmer climates are running less than 50%, they claim at 33% metal protection is still good but cooling performance is better than with 50%.

33% has freezing protection down to 0f and water does cool better than coolant so its definitely worth looking into given you are in Australia.

You can get the anti corrosion and water pump lube in an additive that isn't coolant.

If I ran 33% I'd probably change it every year.

Car manufactures test their cars/SUV/PU at Death Valleys in summer, if oil+trans fluid+coolant mixture ... have no problem with 120+F then it should not have any problems in most places in the world with high temperature.
