Hi, I read here a lot of post about this but still confuse. My Fusion use from stock the Motorcraft Dark Green. I read that Motorcraft Dark Green and Orange were discontinued and The replacement is the Motorcraft Yellow.
If I don't wrong I rea that the G05 is the one aproved for Ford like the replacement.
But checking, Ford example, The Zerex G05 is HOAT and The Motorcraft Yellow POAT. Not The same kind.
Am I wrong?
i am replace the Radiator for a new one and looking for The right Coolant.
Thank in avance for The help.

i think you're confusing 2 coolants...
IIRC the G05 was what my '09 sable took, which was Motorcraft Gold.
which was replaced by the Dark Green, which was replaced by Orange ( which is DEXCOOL in all but name), which was replaced by the Current Yellow.
This is the most recent version of the chart I could Find (updated August of 20204) https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubricants.com/quickref/coolantsEN.pdf
and this:
Backward Compatibility/Use of Motorcraft® Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant with/in place of Motorcraft® Orange Antifreeze/Coolant and Motorcraft® Specialty Green Engine Coolant with Bittering Agent

If your Fusion came with the dark green, it’s a PHOAT Asian coolant. Use Zerex Asian or the like.
Hi, yeah I read this about the Asían Coolant.
I mean, With The Ford notice, about the Dark Green and Orange discontinued and replaced by Motorcraft Yellow.
The Motorcraft Dark Green Will be replaced by the Yellow Motorcraft, right? But Yellow Motorcraft is HOAT right?
And The similar in this Motorcraft Yellow, in Zerex Will be?
Thanks For your help.

Hi, thanks For your help. Yeah. I check those charts before and the notice of Ford.
Motorcraft Dark Green and Orange are discontinued and both replaced by the Yellow. I am missing something?

I mean the Dark Green refer to the Specialty Green Coolant

Motorcraft Yellow replace both Specialty Green and Orange, right?

sorry man, I don't know the chemistry, just that the vehicle's manufacturer say, if it came with this one that we don't make any more, use this other one.

just make sure you do a thorough flush to get any of the old stuff out... my 2¢

Just use Zerex Asian. Color doesn’t matter. As long as you use a PHOAT it will have the same chemistry as what came in the vehicle. Our 2011 Fusion also came with Specialty Green. FWIW, Mazda FL-22 is the same as the dark green.

Is the same like the Motorcraft Yellow, right?

In some sites appear The Zerex Asían like POAT and in others PHOAT. But The Yellow Motorcraft is POAT.

OP, you gotta stop using Google’s AI overview. Please just listen to the people here who know this stuff. Motorcraft Yellow is not a PHOAT. Your car came with a PHOAT. If you want to use the same type of coolant, use Zerex Asian or another equivalent PHOAT.

Ok, thanks for the explanation.
Let see. Specialty Green Coolant (Stock 2.5 2011) is PHOAT. Zerex Asian is similar PHOAT.

And Motorcraft Yellow according Ford is the replacement of Specialty Green and Orange (discountinued). Is this correct?
But Motorcraft Yellow Not PHOAT.

And if this is correct which one will be better? Same protection?
Thanks in advanced.
