Coolant Fill - no bleed valve

Did a coolant change on a 2007 Honda Civic 1.8. Unlike most other Hondas I've had, there is no bleed valve. It took forever to get the radiator filled. Normal pour will result in a gurgle, hiccup, regurgitation, and splash mess as the air is expelled. I use a funnel. Requires a very, very slow pour - almost a dribble. I have the FSM - there is no valve.

Any suggestions?

Try jacking the front of the vehicle so the radiator is a little higher higher up and not level.

Pour much slower, and massage the hoses.

This is also why they sell "radiator funnels", so that you can get a good fit in the rad opening, fill it up to the top of the funnel, and have a bit more downward force.

Car was on Rhino ramps - front was raised 6". Plus my driveway slopes downward to the rear.

Did you read my post - I poured so slow it was a dribble. Probably 15 - 20 minutes for a gallon. Hose massage did not work.

Does that radiator funnel have a tight lock seal like a radiator cap? If not it will leak out like my normal funnel.

Somehow the air must escape during the fill. Why no bleed valve?

Only thing I can think of is a funnel with a long thin extension to snake down into the radiator to fill from below and push the air up. It is not a straight shot down - the fill opening is offset making a right angle turn making that hose insertion difficult.
