Coolant and RTV Color

For coolant application,

Does Color Matter?

Permatex does sell a Water Pump RTV but, only in tiny quantities. (0.5OZ)

If you follow their quiz it says you can also use (Grey)

But why not Black?

Black will be fine. Coolant is a lower stress application for RTV.

I have always used the Grey, in the form of the Right Stuff.

Ford will use the same part number for every part on the engine so color isn't necessarily indicative of use.

I find it strange everyone thinks RTV is the only show there is for a sealant.
