Cool P-51 Video - England Perspective

Nice video, though I don’t agree with his pronunciation of “Packard”.

The IWM in Duxford is well worth a visit. I’ve been a couple of times, last month, most recently.

Me with one of the Spitfires, it was raining, of course…

Technically speaking the 1942 P51 Mustang (437mph) was superior over
the 1938 Spitfire (370mph)... whereas the 1944 Me262 (530mph) was superior
over both P51 Mustang and Spitfire...

Hi Astro.
Duxford is a great place. I have spent many days there. I recommend it to any forum members that find themselves in England.

You were unlucky to catch rain. We are experiencing our driest summer in 46 years. Water use restrictions are not far away.

I hope our border control people are treating you with a little more respect. Heathrow is apparently a complete shambles at the moment.

How should 'Packard' be pronounced please? The way the gent in the video says it, is the way i presumed was correct.

Hey Tikka - LHR security continues to present challenges - but not to the degree that ground operations present challenges.

Heathrow is at 40% staffing, and we were flying 115% of our 2019 schedule. Not a good mix. Heathrow asked us (and every other airline) to cut back.

We had informed them last year that we would return to our full schedule this summer. They “knew better” - and declined to hire back the staff that was laid off. Another self-inflicted wound due to inept management at LHR…

London, one of my favorite cities, but not my favorite airport.

And yes, Duxford is one of my favorite museums. Totally worth the train ride each way.
