I first used syn oil in my 1968 motorcycle and then in my 1974 Chev pick up and assorted vechiles from front bumper to rear bumper and never had a noticeable [worthy ] increase in mpgs. Besides most of the pcmos have to get the mpgs like syn oils. Todays oils aren't like the 1960s oils. Infact I put some 5w/20 Valvoline syn oil from last years 99 cent with a rebate special and compared to the 5w/30 pennz oil used in the last oil change I am down in m.p.gs. from my Scanguage tank average . I have gone from 21.8 mpgs last July to April this year oil change which was 5,000 miles to 21.1 April to July this year .
