Consumer Reports : Tires vs. Potholes ...

Have hit a few the past week . Took my eye off road for a few seconds to tune radio and BANG ! One them was a new pothole . The tires are 185/65-15 GENERAL Altimax RT43 (H) @ 34 > 35 . Had to slam on brakes about a month ago to avoid 2 deer . Hasn't been kind for past month to the tires .

Ya gotta love the pickup trucks with the "off-road" package and 22s.

I haven't seen that. 22's yes, but those are all sport/luxury trims. I believe the Ram 1500 ORG is 18's.

I find taller profile tires to be downright sexy!
Saw a set on a newer Macan (usually have larger wheels/short sidewalls).
Had to do a triple-take for that one!

I went with Sport Accord Hybrid but think should have moved up to Ex-L to get better fuel economy, better protection, and less expensive tires with 17 inch tires as opposed to 19 inch. I did get the road and hazard and windshield chips warranty for 6 6 years unlimited mileage at Honda for no extra cost-finance guy was getting a bonus for it.

I dodge massive craters daily. When the road is very wet you can't see the potholes. If you are lucky you hydroplane over them.

You can always get takeoffs from the junkyard, or aftermarket wheels from TR :)

@spiderbypass - Craigslist, FB Marketplace, other forums. Many of the Honda's are interchangeable for bolt pattern and not far off on the offset. Other manufacturers like Hyundai and Nissan will also fit as bolt pattern is the same with a slightly larger hub bore.

I have 17" rims from a Hyundai Elantra as my summer rims (I had them on my Sonata). I bought 3mm hub rings to take up the space but the rims are centered by the tapered lug nuts anyway. I have 215-55-17 which is stock size for '17 EX-L.

Even better, you can get 16 inch wheels and use the size 205/65-16 :)
