Consumer Reports : Tires vs. Potholes ...

Even better, you can get 16 inch wheels and use the size 205/65-16 :)
I have that as my winter tires on the stock rims. I recall some of the threads on DriveAccord and that would need to be verified. the higher trims had different size calipers and the 16" didn't fit on all of them.

If I search on AAP front pads for my LX are PXD914H but if I change to EX trim it is PXD1654H and the Sport takes a different #'s showing PXD1832H or PXD1697.

Based on that even the 17" would need to be verified as fitting.

I have 235/55/19 on our Rav4 and have hated them before I bought the car.

I have been meaning to switch them to 16's from a Lexus or something - guess I better get on that project.
I’m guessing they would fit? Toyota isn’t big on big brakes. If the base model takes 16” rims then yours should too. Wonder if you can scour FB and CL for takeoffs.

The Parish I live in, the roads look like they're testing missiles on them.
I once saw a pothole that was as wide as my Scion, I swerved hard last minute to avoid it as it was mostly filled with water from a winter rain storm.

As an adjuster I've completed a few claims on BMWs that actually blew their curtain airbags from running over potholes so deep, that the suspension bottomed out and the vehicle thought it was in a roll over. Those guys must have been flying over some serious craters though.

I have a 225/75/16 as a full size spare tire - on a 16 inch wheel from a much earlier Rav4. I think its 0.1 inches taller than the 235/55R19's. I am tempted to go with these and 16's from a early Lexus. The offsets seem pretty close as well.

Nice. I toyed with a Hybrid RAV4 for a while, not the best vehicle but as a do-all it might do what I “need”, but I didn’t like being forced into alloys.
