Ridiculous. And dealers around here won't really budge on the price. That's one of the reasons I went with a 3i.

Nice to see the Ford Fusion on there. I think it is grossly underrated. I've heard excellent things about them.

i bought a ford focus in nov 2006 for 9500 brand new...it is very roomy and i am quite pleased with it...i think honda civics are over priced

New cars are a poor value. I got my 1.5 year old 2001 Acura CL-S with 29k for 2/3 of MSRP = $20500. A friend got a 1.5 year old 2004 Acura TSX with 23k for ~70% of MSRP = $21k. Both private deals. Only real difference from new cars is a shorter warranty and half-worn tires. Good deal!

I agree. Next purchase I'm on the Dave Ramsey plan of buying a 2-3 year old car.

I bought my '04 Silverado Extended cab when it was 18 months old. Total value when new (truck plus major aftermarket accessories) was right at $30,000. I paid the dealer $17,500 out the door, with the balance of the factory warranty.

This was then the price of gas was on its way up, and GM had just released the first pictures of the new '07 pickups. This dealer wanted most of the pickups on their lot gone before they received the first shipment of the '07's.
