I thought that would get your attention. Here is a report on Imperial gelled fire starter. To me it’s for days when you don’t have time to set up kindling in your fireplace or wood stove.
The interesting thing is it’s not volatile like petroleum based charcoal lighter. In my opinion it’s perfectly safe for use in contained burning spaces like wood stoves.
You can put a blotch on a piece of wood or run a short line on it. It lights easily and doesn’t flash. A flame on a line of it just travels slowly along the log. It will burn for about 5 minutes before it’s gone. It is a bit pricey, being 4 times the price of charcoal lighter. It doesn’t have a strong order so, will not stink up the storage area. Enjoy.
